Chicago Pizza at its best. I have had all kinds of pizza from Home Run Inn from frozen to "in location" and nothing beats the 4254 W 31st St location. We like ours well baked and most often pick it up and take it home to eat. I have been going there for over 30 years and it is still the best pizza in Chicago. – Bruce N. I have been going here since I was a little boy. My father use to take me here when I was little. Then I started taking my oldest son here when he was little. So for me that is well over 40+ years and for my oldest son that is close to 20 years. I can only hope that my son takes his son here some day. This is the original, since 1947 and in my humble opinion the BEST, hands down pizza that Chicago has to offer. I have even interviewed with the producers to get this place on Check Please. I have even used the line, "it hits a home run everytime". Home Run Inn belongs on my 5 Star Best Restaurants list. And you definitely have to give it a try. I know everyone has their own favorite type of pizza and place. And Chicago truly does have a lot of really good pizza places. But Home Run Inn at 31st street on the south side of Chicago is by far the BEST darn pizza there is. Give it a try and you will think they, "hit it out of the old ballpark everytime" too. I cannot eat another pizza without thinking of Home Run Inn and how good it is. This is Chicago at its best. – Abigail B. It's all about the crust here. Rich and buttery. Or is it all about the toppings? The sausage and pepperoni is flavorful and hearty. I can't really decide. All I know is the taste is one of a kind. All the other Chicago pizza giants are easy to duplicate. Despite how original they claim to be. But I've not tried any other pizza in this city that comes close to the very distinct style and taste Home Run Inn possesses here. It's quite a thing. – Mark G. I've been going to Home Run Inn since I was a kid. It's my family's favorite pizza place because they serve the BEST pizza in the city. - The crust is thin (but not too thin), crispy and has an amazing flavor; - Tina K. Hands down the best pizza in Chi-town. A very original flavor composed of a natural sauce blend, perfect flaky crust, and very distinct mozzarella cheese. Choose between cheese, sausage, or pepperoni for the simplest and best aroma. Go to the original location if you can; very low key and classic atmosphere. – Marcos R Best pizza in town. No question. Try the cookie monster for desert and thank me afterwards. – David G. I have been coming here for years. To me being from the North-side it’s worth the drive to the south. The pizza is always good and it has the perfect thickness. The ingredients always feel fresh. I recommend anyone not living close to take a trip and try it yourself. It’s a MUST for Chicago. The best pizza. – Rich R. They've been in business for over 60 years. They're doing something right. – Dave G. |
